Will people that have pre-ordered either download/retail , or just download, be able to downoad up to say 99% of the data required sometime before the release date? I have seen this done before, and have not read about Sstardock doing this for Demigod. I think it would help server load rather than thousands of us trying to download it all at once.
Opinions?
from what i hear, it's not a problem as SD has a big network of servers about the globe with which people can download.
i could be mistaken though.
For example. I pre-ordered the Digital/Retail of Spore. I downloaded up to 99% of the Game data via the download client and it stopped. On release day, It allowed me to Download the remaining 1% and go straight into installing the software. Other releases have also used this same technology.
Sounds like a good idea.
From my beta experience download speeds have been top-notch though...always about 2-3x faster than it usually is.
