WindowBlinds does not function. At all.

I just purchased WindowBlinds and was severely dissapointed. I opened the program and attempted to apply a skin, a Windows 7 skin by Butch123 from WinCustomize, and it seemed like it was working. The logo/loading thing came up, and then suddenly everything went haywire and reverted to a messed up Windows Classic theme. Not only that, WindowBlinds froze. I had to close with my task manager and reopen. I tried all the included skins and they all did the same. Only Aero works. I'm using Vista, by the way. Also, according to a Stardock video on YouTube, I should be able to use SkinStudio to convert an XP .msstyle file. Again, it doesn't work. It just opens the theme in the SkinStudio edit style window with a really messed up preview. So right now, Stardock is 0 for 2 with me. Any ideas what's wrong?

Did you have the trial version of WBs installed?  If so did you uninstall it prior to installing the full version?

Where did you download WB from?

After install did you reboot?

In the WB config, go to the Sys info tab and post your sys info here.

Link to the video on youtube?  SKS doesn' convert styles now.

Never fear though, there is actually a free, stand-alone tool to do just that!

The conversion program is really good to know, thanks. Anyways, here're my specs:

 

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.0 (build 49 x86 - Vista Edition)

 

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC 

WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

looks like you need to update pretty bad man....theres a 6.4 out right now with alot of fixes, maybe thats the problem, gotta get impulse to update all the stardock products, and enter registration numbers and email into it to get all your updates, where'd you "BUY" the windowblinds program from?:grin:

If you did buy it you paid for a cracked version, 6.0 version does not have file dates from yesterday.

yeah man so i would guess that either someone has swindled you into buying illegal software or you just need to update really bad....i wouldn't expect to have anything work right until you purchase the program from stardock

It looks like a new crack has hit the torrents......this is the third warez post I've seen today *_*

It never ceases to amaze me how many people come here complaining that their warez version of Windowblinds doesn't work....like duh! Most of them don't realize that aside from a non-functional Windowblinds they've also managed to install some of the nastier key loggers and viruses available to the public.
