Generals/Assassins

If it doesn't break NDA- not sure how open the Beta is...

Which demigods are Generals and which are Assassins? Or is this more of an option you choose at character creation- like I want to play Rook as a General or as an Assassin?

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Reading through posts, am I too understand that any demigods may group with any other demigods? That any demigod may be on the light/dark team?

Can you have multiples of the same demigod on a team- say 2 Rooks? and/or can one Rook play against another Rook?

I just discovered this game and I must say its looks great.

In Pantheon games, Rook, Regulus, Sedna and Oak are the only ones that can be on the light team.  The rest can be on the dark team.

In custom games, you can mix and match as you like.

In both game types, multiples of the same demigod are allowed.

In Beta custom games you can have any team composition and as many Rooks as you want.  Pantheon, which is the metatournament, only allows you to play as one DG, and the DGs on your side can be any combo of the DGs in your faction.  Light faction is Oak, Regulus, Rook, and Sedna.  Dark faction is Quen of Thorns, Unclean Beast, Torchbearer, and Erebus

edit: ninja'd!

Thanks for the answers.

In the Pantheon metatournament is there a specific team size- say 2 v 2? or such?

In partnering is it best to have 1 Assassin and 1 General? or is it best to always have more Generals than Assassins? or vice versa?

I'm sure a lot of it is probably preference so I may be asking for your individual opinions of gameplay so far.

No specific team size or game type in Pantheon

With a couple of exceptions, you can choose any combo you want.  It really comes down to playstyle and opponents

In one vs one situations, assassins are more dangerous than general, but when it comes to 3vs3 or more, having a general on your side that provides an interesting aura (speed, regen, ....) is a great asset.

the matchmaking system chooses the team-size mainly on the numbers of players available when you start the match, and then chooses a map accordingly. So there is no specific team size in the pantheon: you launch a pantheon match, the system search allies/ opponents and choose a map that can host that number of player.

The system also chooses the game mode.

So when playing a Pantheon match can I cue with a partner or is it completely random who plays with who?

Right now it's random.  Hopefully the release candidate will have a queue or lobby system which allows you to group before playing.

Because there is a TAB in the Pantheon section for Top Clans, I am inclined to believe we will be able to team cue.

I also noticed that the forces of Light have 3 Assassins and 1 General while the Dark forces have 3 Generals and 1 Assassin? Will this cause balance issues?

Or am I very confused about who the forces of Light/Dark are? Looking at the Mythology page I am thinking the left demigods are the Dark Demigods...

you are confused, 2 assassins & 2 generals by side (and more soon :) )

Rook & Regulus : light assassins

Oak and Sedna : light generals

Unclean beast & Torch Bearer : dark assassins

Queen of thorns and Erebus: dark generals
