What the heck am I doin' wrong??!

I downloaded Bootskin Vista (Free) to try (never would work on my other machines) and it was working fine until I tried to download new screens. They just don't show up! I checked and noticed that I don't have a bootskin/skin folder, so the downloads just go into the main folder, but they won't work from there. I downloaded Bootskin with Impulse. What should I do now?

Have you tried creating a Skins  folder within a  BootSkin  folder and placing it into the Stardock folder ?  ( found in Public Documents) That should be where the program will look for them. That is where mine go and work fine from that location.

Make sure the folders are spelled/capitalized exactly like above.

Actually, I did try that and it still didn't work. I'm willing to give it another shot though! I'll let you know if it works!

Nope, it doesn't work. I tried clicking "add a new skin" but I can't get that new Skins folder to even open. Also, I saw that the screens I downloaded and extracted to the main bootskin folder weren't there! They vanished, but where??

What the heck? :omg:

You may need to save the skins to your desktop and place them into the folder manually.I do this with both bootskins and dreams,as I too have had some just vanish otherwise.

OK, that works!

At first I got a couple that opened the "Windows can't open this file" box, but then I tried one by AzDude and it worked!

Thanks for all the help!
