How many Different Heros will there be In Release?

Hi, i was wondering if there will be more heros added until or after release?

i think 8 is way too little since in a 5 on 5 ull have at least 2 times the same hero which kinda sucks imo.

this game is inspired by dota, but dota has over 100 unique heros?

thx for any answers :)

Nothing like 100 unique heros, where only 10 max get played.  Guy didn't even have to waste his time creating the others.

There will be 8 heroes at release AFAIK, with the option of releasing more heroes if Demigod sells well.

2 new Demigods are planned after release, more if the game is succesfull

well, thats sorta true that ppl dont use all 100 heros, but still probably use like 20-30 (which is still more than 8)

anyway, thx for those answers: )

Well I think that the more Demigods we have available the better, however I'd still rather have a small number of DGs that play uniquely and are balanced against each other like we have now.

100 is too many and 8 is too little.   12-20 would be a good number.

In dota, every game seems a bit different because you always face a different hero and team combinations.

In demigod, alot of games are starting to feel the same because there's not much variety in the heroes.

i am sure there will be 8 at release but i wish games sells and well and add some demigods with patches and and 5-8 demigods in same time with expasion.

A key thing to remember is that they don't want this to be a DotA clone, this is their own game.

Well each demigod has like 12 skills in total, so it's 3 times more than Dota heroes. You can safely say that there're lots more ways to play each demigod than hero in dota. Which is better imo.

Okay, so they shouldn't add more heroes just because DotA has a lot?  Yeah, that makes sense.

Variety is good.  I certainly agree that 100 is beyond superfluous.  Only having 8 Demigods, however, is too few, especially when those 8 are for the most part fairly archetypal.  Only a couple of them don't fall into a typical mold.  The game could really use the addition of more Demigods that aren't just visually unique but also unique in terms of gameplay.

I think 12-16 would be a good maximum number to aim for, fewer if they instead overhaul a couple of the current ones.

I'd rather have double the skills(unique skills, not more levels of the same skill. FFFFFFFFFFFFffffffff levels of a skill doesn't count as a seperate skill :|) per Demigod than double the Demigods. :/

That's not a bad point.  Eight demigods only feels like so few at the moment because most of them are rather one dimensional with the small, straightforward skillset they have.

A Demigod "creator" would be ideal :D

Something that worked in a way that wouldn't require players to download these creations before joining matches.

And in no time...  almost everyone would run the same demigod with the commonly accepted "über build".

UO Tankmage ftw! :p

That could be a really really good idea :P

Give a pool of balanced skills. About 7 skills for each character is allowed. There are about three Skill 1's, three Skill 2's, three Skill 3's (etc. until Skill 7). You cannot choose two Skill 1's or two Skill 2's (etc. to 7). This would mean that balance would be fairly easy/easier. For example - Skill 1 pool would be Hammer Slam, Bite, Spit. You would have to choose only one of these, and so your DG couldnt consist of having Hammer Slam, bite and spit in one build.

Anyway realistically they wont do this, so maybe simply a skin editor for one Demigod (new one they add) would be more realistic and easier to do. E.g. one of the new Demigods they release for download doesnt have one permanent form and you can edit/change his skin as you please (maybe a mist Demigod or w/e?). Dunno if thats possible with current engine/character designs?

What would be great would be a costume/paint/accessory utility. You can outfit your demigods, paint them in different colours, so no 2 Demigods are the same.

I was wondering about the setting:

1.) It's about an ongoing battle between light and darkness, but there are just 4 to 5 characters per side fighting? How does this sound plausible? World War III with 10 people involed ... (i am being sarcastic here, don't take that to serious ;) ).

2.) A battle of 'immortals', where 'i' as an immortal should fight to become god. But 'i' have to chose a character which others to might also chose. So there are thousands of 'me' trying to attain godhood. So why should i even bother? I don't have a personal agenda to attain godhod ... With this senario, the game totaly needs a heroes customisation-kit! Players have to get specific skills and rewards else the system pantheon is kind of useless. It would only show Player X archived Y victorys with char Z...

I doubt that this will be enought to keep players playing.

And as a fact those 2 points would stop me form buying demigod, because playing the same heroes and maps again and again would soon get boring.

Although i think the basic idea of demigod is a very good one, a system like the phanteon with lots of heroes batteling each other should have at least enough different heroes to chose from so that you won't battle the same hero two times in a row. And it needs something like honorpoints which might be spend for skills or items to reflect the players status within the pantheon.

So don't get me wrong. I am totally looking forward to play that game! But these two points are my main concern.

with kind regards
