Less people playing beta everyday

Is it just me or are there less and less people playing the beta everyday?  Maybe I'm logging in at the wrong times.  It sure looks alot emptier now than 2 weeks ago.  Are most people just taking a break and just waiting for release 4/14?

Not sure I agree.  I see a big spike everytime the new betas come out, but today there was a huge tourney and tons of people were online.

yes less people, its normal, game lack re playability, its get boring fast

Or maybe its because its closed beta so there are no new players at all going into the game, and most people who have the beta are expecting something more polished like the RA3/DoW2 beta's.

And maybe some big releases and free UT3 plays a role...

we need to organise the multiplayer comunity! Clans! more competition, more people playing! make new clans, join clans, but dont give up on Demigod!

(Join my clan for example, see Protos ex Primoris topic :p :P :p :P )

It might be true that demigod needs another ranking system but the light vs dark thing. Something where guilds might battle each other to gain access to .. (i don't know i cannot play beta :( )

The problem with that is, elite guilds will outrang the casuals and all higher rankings will be exclusively be taken by elite players from elite guilds ...

I find this quote very funny :)

The Beta you are playing now is 99% of the game you will be playing on release other than a few balance tweaks and fixes. People not playing because they expect a more polished Beta? or people not playing because they expected a more polished final game?

Take your pick.

same here, a match with more than 6 players is too laggy and unplayable

i believe ppl were expecting something like all other betas(demos) but stardock does only real betas and they were disapointed,

Also for some ppl and myself included like the game very must but cant spend 2 hours+  for only 1 game and that because of those damned connections, i cant stay 2 hours continiously trying to enter games, create game, then try enter a game again and after 2 hours u at last find someone to play but game ends very soon if ppl arent good, or u lose vs 2 teamates since u dont have any teammate yet or u cant connect to them. Some other ppl are lucky and connect easy but there are still many ppl having probs( but i am the winner for having worst connection in game!! :grin: :grin: )

Connections need to be 100x better on release or else...

Yes, this connection code isn´t ready for release yet. Maybe it works for ~70% or something like that. But you´ll have to wait up to 2 minutes in order to join a game. This isn´t acceptable :(

I'm enjoying the game and haven't had too much trouble teaming up at the peak times. I think they main problem is the connection issues I am hopeful that once they are sorted more people will be inclined to play more often. Also Empire Total War has just hit the stores and if you like games like that like myself you are spending alot of time playing that :D

I didn't stop playing because it wasn't polished, I stopped playing because:

* Empire Total War

* "We aren't writing C code anymore"

It's a beta with performance, gameplay, and balance issues (beyond script file changes) and they want to spend over a month tweaking LUAs instead of attacking the beef of the problem. I could care less if the game crashed every 5 minutes as long as GPG was serious about fixing stuff... but they aren't.

I feed off of the emo in this thread.

Nom nom nom!

Well I´m also off from  the beta the reasons are:

*I had expected to much from the whole game I expected something that was like SupCom for me ,  a game I can play the nearly the whole day long

But it lacks Re-playability (Compared to DotA[I´m not such a big DotA fun either])

*SupCom ( I still play it very often online to maintain my skill level)

*DoW 2 (I´d played Beta and Pre-ordered)

*Battleforge(I´d played Beta and Pre-ordered)

On the 20th´s march I´m even going to stop lokkin´around in the forum because I can play the released Battleforge

Well I nearly didnt found time today^^

I really hope GPG is going to include an Modding tool because every game is dyng without mod´s or consistant gameplay updates (New Units etc.)

How generlistic of you, oh my. Well, as many others have said, there will be more to the game other than what's there on release. Only reason it lacks replayability, is the lack of users in the Beta. (In this current "economic status" people are afraid to purchase, wussies)

Just wait until the full release/Single Player mode, then you'll see your "Re-playability". :grin:

* "We aren't writing C code anymore"
End of quote

Most of the game engine is controlled by LUA.  The fact that they're not working on C code right now isn't terribly limiting for them, and we're going to be doing post release updates, not just bug fixes, so the game is not going to stagnate.
