looking for some mods

Ok, I'm in a bit of a situation here. I'm going to be playing this game for a reelatively large group of people pretty soon, and I've been trying to find various mods to help e along and make the playthrough more varied. So far, after searching through the Impulse library, all the ones that I find that look decent have either been abandoned or have been lost to the digital void and are undownloadable. If anyone can help me find some of these, I'd be very appreciative.

Oh, before I go further, I should note that due to money constraints, I've only been able to get DA, not TA.

First and foremost, I'm looking for some custom minor races. I have a few in mind, but the ones I've found so far were for custom playable/major races. Is there any way to switch them over to minor races? If so, is there any way to ensure a particular race or two are going to be included in the game? If I'm expecting to run into Shodan while I'm exploring space, I'd rather not see the Vegans pop up in her place, you know?

Next, the High Res mod that's stickied at the top of the page. I know I have to go to that Imod site for it, but the recent comments left there indicate that the download is infected with adware. Is there a clean version available?

After that, I need to start thinking about the race that I will be playing. I'm gojng to use a custom race, but for that I'll need a custom ship style. Are there any good ones out there worth the download? I see tons of different styles, but I'm not sure which one I'd want.

Umm... am I missing anything else? I think that's pretty much all I need, but if there's anything else that I should add, feel free to let me know. PLease and thanks for the help.

There are tons of shipstyles inside of the total conversions. Download the TC, take the shipstyle, & discard the rest. I'm sure the modder won't care. If by

you mean the Metaverse, I feel I should warn you that most mods will get you disqualified if you use them in a meta game!

Actually, by "large group of people", I mean I'm playing this game for a forum full of people. The basic format is that it's going to be done in a series of screenshots. This is why I want some custom minor races, so that when, say, Shodan just "randomly shows up", it will break up the monotony of routine a bit.

Basically, anything that will make the game more interesting, gimmicky, or otherwise provide nice breaks from the grind are what I'm looking for.

Check the Library. There are several races available for download there. Also, there are several mods at I-Mod productions (www.i-mod-productions.com) provided that you do not live in Ohio or some parts of Canada, as there are problems for people connecting from these locations...
