Old XML configuration files

I thought, at one time, there was a way to 'install' an older version of the game from impulse, which I decided I was interested in primarily because I wanted to actually see what had changed over time, what updates were hard-coded, and what had been tweaked via XML.

Well, if there ever was, I can't find it now- does anyone recall how to do this or is there any other way of finding the 'historical' xml files that anyone is aware of?

Archiving helped me out a few times in the past. Make it an habit and you'll any files zipped up as a reference and available from where you saved them.
