Sins of Solar decompression error

I've tried to download this game 3 times since purchasing it. Each time I get the same error. Decompression error. It doesn't matter if I'm downloading from Impulse or from SDC. Any chance that a CD/DVD will be coming out soon?

Comp. specs are as follows:

Operating System : Windows XP Service Pack 3 - (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.080814-1236)  XP Pro

Video Card : ATI Radeon 9600/9550/X1050 Series

Sound Card : SoundMAX Digital Audio

DirectX version : 4.09.00.0904

Pentium 4 3GHz with 2.00 GB of RAM

CD is already out, i live in Aus but i bought it when i was in the states... that was like april last year

Try reformatting your PC. That would take a lot more work, but it solves most problems. In any case, make sure that your hard drive is NOT compressed when you reformat.

You should manually remove the game folder, and delete 2 Registry Keys before you'll be able to re-install.

Go to C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire (or where ever you installed the game) and delete the main folder.

Then launch the System Registry (Start-> run, and type regedit)
Look for and delete the following Keys;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.net\sins
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.net\sinsentrench

For Vista 64 bit;
HKLM>SOFTWARE>Wow6432Node>Stardock>Drengin.net>sins
HKLM>SOFTWARE>Wow6432Node>Stardock>Drengin.net>sinsentrench

Then, reboot your PC and go back to Impulse and try installing the base game. Make sure it installs to 1.13 version, test it out before then installing entrenchment.

Sorry, the folder will only be there is you've successfully installed. Your issue is you can't install due to the decompression error?

Try this from within Impulse:

-Click the blue Stardock logo in the upper left of the Impulse interface and select 'Preferences...'
-Click on the 'Connection' section on the left.
-Check or Uncheck the box that says 'Use Legacy download system (BITS)'
-Close Impulse and relaunch it.
