Vista X64 Sound Stop Errors 0x00000124 - Only occuring with this game

I've had really poor luck getting this game to run for extended periods of time.  Typically i have no problems for the first hour, but sometime after that the sound will suddenly get stuck and a BSOD occurs with the Stop 0x00000124 error.

While i'm not overclocking my machine, i did go and run Prime95 in stress testing mode for ~ 20 hours with no errors, and ran a Memcheck program from CD to confirm that it's neither of those components.  I made sure that i had the windows Vista updates and drivers (Bios & Video / Sound Etc.) fully updated.

The card is a SB Gamer X-FI.

My System:

I7 Core 2.67

ASUS P6T Deluxe

6 GB ram - Tri-Channel Config

Nvidia 9800GT in SLI 2 config

Vista Home Premium x64 - SP1 and all other individual updates.

I did attempt to take out one of the video cards, since i saw some said that could cause some problems, but i experienced the same behavior.

Since i'm only seeing this problem with Sins i suspect it's something about the game, but i don't see any other reports of this here. So for the moment is there anything else i should be looking for or testing before i give up on Sins for the time being.

I've been getting a similar issue with Sins for about 2 months now but haven't been able to find any solutions.  Sometimes 5 minutes into play, sometimes 2 hours, sometimes not at all, the system hard-locks, sound sticks, and I have to hold the power button to reboot the machine in order to get a response.  Don't get the BSOD, but I don't get anything after that happens-- screen is totally frozen, no response from mouse or keyboard.

System:

Intel 6400 Core 2 Duo 2.13

3 GB RAM

Nvidia 8800 GTS (running 178.13 drivers, but problem happened on previous version as well)

Vista Home Premium 32 bit - SP1 and all updates.

Likewise with me, this problem only happens with Sins.  If there's a log file that's created somewhere that I could send to IronClad I'd be happy to, just don't know where to find it.

If anybody's got any ideas on this, I'd appreciate any help that can be given.

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\Sins Dump

Vista: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\Sins Dump

If there is a minidump file present, please zip it up along with a copy of a dxdiag from your PC and a description of what you were doing when it occurred to support(at)ironcladgames(dot)com. Please note that you must provide your Sins of a Solar Empire serial number in your email to receive support (anti-piracy measure).

Thanks for the pointer, I'll get that sent.  No mini-dump file to send, unfortunately-- Sins Dump doesn't exist as either a directory or file.
