[Balance] Regulus is overwhelmingly popular. Therefor he needs a nerf.

I keep trying different demigods and alternative builds.\

Right now I love Queen of Thorns as a pure general.

HOWEVER

When playing multiplayer games the overwhelmingly popular choice seems to be regulus.

This in of itself suggests that he is overpowered.

Multiple regulus together on one team, if they coordinate, are a particularly deadly combination.

Even playing well, its difficult to withstand such intense focus fire.

I played a 6 player game the other day.

EVERY other human player was Regulus.

Once again - You shouldn't nerf a given Demigod based on popularity.  Nerf based on mechanics and balance.

Right now Regulus has the best and most polished set of skills, imo, and that's because the devs took him out of the Beta and worked on him.  They need to bring every other DG up to his level and then let's see.

Snipe needs a diminished stacking mechanism and that's about all I would change with Regulus right now.

(Regulus popular = needs a nerf) != (regulus popular = suggests OP)

Your topic title and your post have a major disagreement -- post says that he needs a nerf because he's popular, not because his being so popular suggests he's OP :P

That said, I can't really answer the rest of your post -- I'm one of the people who had trouble with the connection netcode, and I've only just started being able to play games online.

I find regulus boring to play and I think it's because he's an easy DG to win with. Mines  > snipe gg, out of range of towers, can pick off DG's from the other side of the map. I did play him today for the first time since b1 and I stacked about 9 mines on the xp flag which obviously the enemy was going to attempt to cap at some point and when he did gg.

Regulus' popularity is a direct consequence of his ease of use and strength

After playing torchbearer a bunch of times and getting to know him, I player regulus once and did MUCH better with that character.

The super long range attack and great vision together make him pretty much 'easy mode'.

In terms of flavor I find him by far the  least appealing character.

My guess is that people are all playing him for one or more of the following reasons:

i) he is overpowered

ii) he is easier to use then other DG's

iii) they like homoerotic art

Quoting Ostragoth, reply 4

End of Ostragoth's quote

They also must race motorcycles!

Thread title: Wow! What flawless logic!  If everybody likes it, it must be overpowered!

Really, the way everyone is, they should just buff them all to be as fun (or better) than Regulus.

(TB & vamp getting TLC? :ninja: )

i believe regelus has only 1 think that makes him very powerful the mines. they can be used as granades to decrease health of the enemy very quick but you can also put many at a flag and make it impossible to capture becasue this will 1 shot an enemy demigod. also melee demigods have problem with that because even if they see them they cant destroy them because if they go close and attack they will explode. Also i believe his range is a bit too much should be slightly smaller this makes him very good at hit and run

Mines at flags arent as deadly as u said, Anubis since u can let ur grunts walk into them. The only problems are flags, where no grunts are going, like the XP-flag but even there, a general can send in his minions, which have a lot of health and can even survive little minetraps. Regulus has really low HP, so it is easy to get him with slow/stun. The only real problem is the multi snipe-tactic. I agree, we need dimished stacking here.

yes i of course didnt ean flags  grunts go mostly at xp flag i think any demigod should have a way to take out mines if he knows. like unclean beast he cant destroy them and his skills like venom isnt able to attack mines.
