I put the galactic civilizations II cd into cd rom. Wont run anything and shows NOTHING when I open the CDRW drive under 'my computer'. I just tried Warcraft III frozen throne and that worked fine!!! What the hell? Any ideas?

You may want to repost in the GCII forum instead of Object Desktop.........

Possible causes......

1. GCII is a DVD not a CD (I don't know, I'm just stating possibilities)

2. GCII is a newer format CD than your hardware supports.

3. GCII CD has got some schmutz on the bottom and it can't be read until you clean it.

4. GCII CD is bad and needs to be replaced.

I'm sure there are other possilities but I'd check these 4 for sure. :)

By the way....the capital letters (yelling) in your post title is likely the reason it took 10 hours vs. 10 minutes to get a reply.

yea sorry about the caps, i noticed it says pc dvd rom software in a small box down on the bottom of the front cover with about 7 other boxes.... it dosent list it under the system requirments on the back cover..... i dont have a dvd drive, only cdrw... any possible way i can download the full version online, use my cd key to register it and play without the cd? b/c the cd will not work, it is brand new, it must be because its a dvd cd....

Yes, you can install the game via Impulse, launch Impulse and it will automatically registered your game (listed in your Stardock.net account) and under the 'My Games' Tab you'll see an Icon for the game. Highlight that and use the Install button to the bottom right.
