No Desktop at all

Greetings,

I recently installed DesktopX on my son's computer, trying to get it up and running so he could access his few games.  I had some issues getting the built-in kid theme (Magic Desktop?) working.  Something with icons not showing up in the added shortcuts.  Anyway, I was tired and shut it all down.  I'll come back to this problem after my main one is resolved.

When I start the computer back up today, I get the background that desktopX was using in that theme, but no desktop icons or start bar or anything.  Tasklist shows explorer.exe is running, but even after shutting it down and restarting it, nothing.  I couldn't figure out which process desktopx was/is living in, if any.  I had shutdown and restarted the computer several times after desktopx was installed and the desktop came up fine, whether it was the standard or the desktopx version.  Any clues as to what happened in this case?

What theme did you apply?  Link?

Many DX themes hide the icons on teh desktop.  Many times you can right-click and see them in the DX menu.  In the same menu you should be able to unload DX and see the standard desktop.

it's the Desktop Playground that comes with DTX (the wall says Magic Desktop)

I just ran it

Playground is set to hide the icons and taskbar

if you bought the full dtx or package that come with dtx builder - right click on the desktop > in the menu click

desktop x > switch to builder - then after builder mode comes up right click on desktop and choose builder > configure builder

when to window pops up, in the desktop tab you can uncheck hide the icons and/or hide the taskbar

if you only have the client version of dtx (no builder) then right click on the desktop > in the menu click desktop x > unload and all should come back

I just created a taskbar and blew up the desktop due to the physics handler getting errors - guess it's due to the various object states built in the option (gravity, etc)

Playground is kinda old - using the add an item option - the windows come up blank for shortcuts, etc and there doesn't seem to be a browse option
