What happens when you use up all your points to build ships ? It seems we have an allotement of 2000 max points to build any and all ships we want , but what happens when your playing agianst 5 solar systems wirh 30 planets each ? Is there any increase somewhere after when you reach a certain point ? I also already have 16 Capital ships Thanks
Once you hit the limit with the research, you gotta make do with the space you got.
I believe there are mods to increase the amount of points. Link anyone?
Vasari can go over the limit with the research "phasic transmissions".

That's not really "over the limit", it's just "a larger limit". 15% more, if memory serves.
It's over the others their limit 
call it what you want it's more ships and on 2000 pts 15 percent is allot 
their fleet does take more capacity too.

Try with fleet sizes set to large? (set it in Game Options before you start the game). This gives everyone 25% more fleet supply (start with 125, max out at 2500, plus Phasic Transmissions is 2875).
For what it's worth, the Advent 'Domination' ability (Rapture, lev. 6) seems to continue working even if you don't have enough fleet supply -- you'll get the ship and have negative remaining points.
Hm, I don't know about the vasari copy pasting ability of the skirantra. Maybe it allows you too go over your fleet cap too I'dd have too try it too know. It probebly works though as it's only for a given time.
