for the magog we see only 3 canon ships in the serie mother ship, a cruiser in s04 and swarm ships(four considering that the swarm ships for s01 and s03 are not the same)

maybe we could include some mecenary like the wall passing guy because they where at the sold of the spirit of the abyss

but for sure an andromeda mod wit out the magog is a FAIL

don't think that i qualify for be a "verry good modeler"... but i am a fan of Andromeda... one of two week ago, i have stop the creation of the high guard race for the 7DS mod since i was alone... a few models was already made... if you like them, i can give them to you... capitalship are 12k triangle, cruiser/frigate/combat platform are 4k triangle...

And the last model already finish is combat platform, AES-111 Odin Drone... created by the ability "combat platform" from capital ship... no picture of it, so i have imagine it... picture of the mesk and a render :

Thanks alot that's wonder full i was looking at the s01 ep 06 just yesterday wit the Eternal Vigilance class it's just awsome to find a picture of a good replica in the mod topic the next day and yes thoses models are interesting

and or now i'm relaying on a copy of the all systheme library for the function and power of the ships

Ouchhhhh.... if you keep the original data for weapons, high guard ship will be to much powerfull for other race... by example, a nova bomb can destroy a planet without problem... Andromeda have 40 of them !!! Or what about the huge number of fighters onboard...

 

ok, i will ready the files for you... will add the RA-26 Shrike Strike Fighter and the RF-42 Centaur Space Superiority Fighter, if i find them back... in 1/2 hours, in my next post...

 

PS : the saveandromeda site is great but not a lot of picture... take a look at the androwiki ... same data but more picture... by example, for the eternal vigilance class, i have base my model on the picture at the following page :

Both the RA-26 Srike and the RF-42 Centaur added ... Use one to be a fighter and the other a bomber... they are around the 3k triangle... can seem high but in 7DS mod, empire have Tie fighter who are around the 4k tri and it work... don't be surprised if 7Ds, with the "Dark" race, have a fighter who look a little like the Centaur from far... i have use the side profile of the centaur wings... and strech the body... but they are enough different and texture will make them more "organic"...

PS : Good luck with your mod... Andromeda can made a very good mod... unfortunaly, few people know or remember the serie... hmmm... will post a link on the 7DS forum, in the topic related to the high guard and explain that the project is not dead... and PM a guy who was ready to help me with coding... More people for make model will be found easily... people for texturing are difficult to find...

 

Since the high guard have not a lot of ship, i was thinking using other picture ( who look like high guard model ) for create new ship... by example, replace the ugly Garuda Class by a new Harpy class who will look like the next picture :

Or a titan class called Almaty who will look like the next picture :

My point is that you need first good 2D people, able to draw ship, if possible a front-back-top-below-3/4 view... these drawing will be the base of your 3D modeler... since the drawing will be colored, they will know where to place the poly for help the texturer after ( since UV always follow edges of poly )...

this explain the hell of a lot of thing sorry to tell but screenes are in fact render of a custom 3d model made by a fan i don't remember how and when it's over 6 years ago and they are acurate except for a part of the ship the "noze"

even the glorious heritage class have the same mistake

 

dude the second is freaking awsome

but for now i'm much more searching for moddeler to make the existing moddel after ill take a look deeper in custom ships 

and the gif in the main post is some of the canon ships not realy seen in the serie

 

and for balance don't warry it's just for a show like balance betwen the ships of the show

nova bomb won't be availible for "ethique purpose"

The fan is Benoit Leonard... a guy from my country, Belgium... When he have create these model, he was at the university, and 3D was part of his study... He have made great model but he have never release the mesh... Now, he live in Brazil... i have try to contact him but until now, i have no reply... The Harpies and Almaty are model from him too... And i have more render ( other space ship ) from him... but nowhere, you will find mesh from him and his model... so the only way is to use his render for recreate from scratch a model...

 

About the nose problem... nothing stop your 3D modeler(s) to change it... it is your model now, you make what you wish with them...

Yep... all in curve, metal color and some carved drawing in the metal... really look like the big brother of the Andromeda...

 

will be very very difficult to model, sure that the woman at the from will need to be removed and create a other ship nose... but it is really a beautifull model who is in the style of the high Guard... This work was made in 2006, just before the guy go to Brazil... ooopppsssss... Not Brazil, Chile...

 

High CG profile can be found at http://l2k.cgsociety.org/about/ ... maybe you can try contact him and ask him about his model... who know, maybe you will be more lucky... he have made magog ship too... the swarm ship and the world ship... of course, his model will be with a lot of poly, impossible to reduce for sins... but having a model help to create one from scratch with low poly... better, try to make him part of your team... on his own site ( http://www.nicepixel.eu/LU/pages/me.htm ), he wrote :

"3D Computer artist, confortable with modelling, animation, texturing and particule effects"

In 2005, he was in a mod team related to UT2004... so, why not try... he say no, the situation is the same that now... and if he say "yes", you will have one the the best modeller that i know for your mod...

I was thinking to have the nova bomb... via research, like the novalith cannon... same effect, 3000 damage to planet, kill some of the population, can shoot from other gravity wheel... will be a level 10 ability of capitalship...

 

Can make the nova bomb having effect like a half novalith cannon and a half kastura cannon... all race have a super weapon, the nova bomb is the super weapons of the High Guard...

some little update

i've been working on High Guards Capitals stats and habilities

so far i have done the

XMC, DSA, DSA II, LRS

they stil need some little balance and habilitie but they act has i hoped this on my first trie 

they are power full but it's a bad gues to deploy them wit out an escort fleet

still miss to import the models

Yep, i have made these models... and some other like a starbase for the rogue... my last one is a carrier cruiser for "the Dark" race... it will replace the Lasurak transporter ( Vasari ) that they use now... Cannot help you... i make model, in some rare case, i make the UV and texture them ( not very good at it, i am on the learning path )... have try to use XSI for create the needed null point but i hate XSI... this is a work for other people, not for me... and the guy who will make these work for you need to know where you wish put the weapons point, the ability point, the truster point, etc... these need to be added in XSI to the mesh... before all this, UV map need to be created and making the texture will be a great help too else your model will be full black in Sins...

 

You really need a team... not only one working on mesh and one working on the game code... You need texturer, they are mainly very good with photoshop or gimp and have a good artistic mind... Some other will work on the particule effect ( truster, weapons )... some will use the model and texture, add some null point and create a .mesh file compatible with sins...

 

PS: without "code", the ship will never fly in Sins... you need to create a entity file for the ship, having one "player" file using these ship, havind a some entry added to the English.str, having some icon for it on the HUD ( need to edit some tga file ), etc ... having a ship flying in sins is a late stage of the project... you are not yet there...

the entity file is ready by the way

name and description edited for XMC, DSA, DSA II, LRS they even have specific mass weapon range strenght etc all what is missing for now is thier model to be sins ready (well the icon also is missing but that seem to be a sport to get them)

so is there any one willing to help me or will i just say go to hell all and close the mod?

For Now Thoumsim you did alot to help me but this project wont goes far if he is the only one helping me

What about the clans - house kodiak etc. These were also a threat.

I also remember in one episode a giant graveyard where highguard ships were re-activated, trapped/captured by the enemy during the war and attempted to be turned. Their was a few types here.

Also their was some huge siege/dreadnaught that was raiding sectors, a left over ship that had gone a little crazy.

They also had fighters.

Glorious Heritage Cruisers: (XMC)

Now the Andromeda Ascendant site indicates that she was only the 10th ship in the Glorious Heritage Class line. All Systems states that the Glorious Heritage Cruisers were a relatively new class. Ashley one of the writers stated at one point that his guess is the number of XMCs was in the hundreds or very low thousands at the time of the fall.


DSA:
All we know is that according to All Systems and the writers that the DSAs were the most common ship in the High Guard fleet and the workhorse of the fleet.


DSX: (Statements on the show from Star Crossed and from statements the writers made on the messaage boards.

The DSX was the intended replacement for the DSA and the ultimate Magog killer. Three ships were completed before the Nietzscheans destroyed the Commonwealth.

Philosophy:

Siege Perilous II-class DSX's were designed to do one thing: pop out of slipstream, unload a metric butt-load of ordnance from extreme range and disappear. The advantages of exchanging ELS tubes for fighter squadrons are several-fold:

1) Maintenance. "The more complicated the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain." A large quantity of homogenous, relatively simple systems are much easier to maintain and more reliable than the XMC alternative.

2) Crewing. No fighters = no operators = no support/maint crew = no incidental crew. Extend this argument to other mission systems deployed on XMCs.

3) Massing of effects. This is much simpler when the vast majority of the offensive payload is single-source.

Yes, the DSX is vulnerable if you can get close to it... but the whole point of the platform is lost if the ship's Captain allows it to happen. Again, the Siege Perilous II was not built for hanging in a hairball. It was built to put steel on target independently, primarily for operations against the Magog. A ship like the DSX with a small crew and overwhelming, long-range offensive capabilities is highly desirable against an enemy that has certain... predilections...

The DSX (an experimental replacement for the Righteous Fist of Heaven-class DSA) was designed to be a Magog-killer, the prototype was named "Siege Perilous" in honor of the brave souls who first took up arms against the [Magog].

Where did those numbers come from!?! Well those ships were High Guard vessel classes that were used by the High Guard.

Home Guard:

From all indications the Home Guard was made up of each planet having a handful of cutters and patrol craft to defend their worlds. Some of them may have had a few larger capital ships; however it is doubtful. The Nietzschean Home Guard relied on patrol craft and freighters that they could quickly covert to destroyers by adding hardpoints. We can guess the size of the Home Guard from what little evidence we have.

We know that Castalia had about 20 cutters that we can confirm exist; they were all shown in a continuos shot in Bunker Hill. Castalian was a former Commonwealth member that was several devastated by the Long Night so it is safe to say many worlds could have had Home Guards more powerful than hers. Of course then some would most likely be weaker so it all balances out.

My guess here is for what each planet would have for a Home Guard and seems to be consitenbt with what we've seen in the post-thud universe:

Home Guard for a single World.

20 Cutters
30-40 Patrol Craft
100+ Fighters


Now of course the Commonwealth had slight over a million planets. Anyone have the exact number Rommie gave in Rose in the Ashes?

So figuring 1 million planets the Home Guard would have "around":

20,000,000 Cutters
30,000,000 Patrol Craft
100,000.000 Fighters
