Slate-X vs Retrospect - problem resolved, thank you!

System: XP Pro

WindowBlinds version: 6.3

Theme: Slate-X

Does anyone else who is using the wonderful Slate-X theme and the backup program EMC Retrospect experience this problem?

On my system, the text within the Retrospect panel is invisible. (The text describes what drives are to be backed up, etc). This invisibility occurs even when all of Retrospects various exe files have been set to be ignored by WindowBlinds. As you can see, only the clickable part of the text ("Copy Now") is visible. When Retrospect runs, the animated Retrospect icon animates but the descriptive text "Now copying drive X" etc is invisible. Unfortunately, the text is also not highlightable, or else yes, I'd simply highlight it if I was curious about what it said.

If I temporarily change the theme back to XP's default, the text reappears, so Retrospect is not at direct fault here.

I love this theme too much to abandon it, but it is a little disconcerting not knowing if my backups are rolling along properly!

Thanks for any help!

By the way, I did manually install the four Slate-X fonts that are supposed to (but do not) automatically install. I thought for sure that would fix it, but, no.

Add the program to the list of applications to not be skinned in Windowblinds. The theme probably calls for white text in a background situation. It is a rare situation but becuase of this skins should have system text color as black.

A good suggestion, but, the invisibility occurs even when all of Retrospects various exe files have been set to be ignored by WindowBlinds. Not just the main "Retrospect.exe" but every other exe in the Retrospect file.

I will see if I can find where the system text color is, and try changing it... stand by...

YOU GOT IT!

Thank you! I changed "System Color: Info Text" from white to grey, and now I can see it. Thank you thank you. There were so many text options, I didn't know which one until you said "system text color". That did it. Gracias.
