55000 downloaded!!! Weeee

' o_O What?? Why cheer about a mere 55000 downloads?!?!', you might think...

Well, if it were 55000 gallery downloads it'd be nothing to cheer about, but this is something different.
Last Tuesday, December 2nd 2008 at 2.58 pm, local time, skin no. 55000 was added to my little collection called The Skinventory. [link]
For those not familiar with it; I started collecting skins over a decade and have turned it into the largest known private skins collection in the world.
That's the short version, which you'll have to settle with for now. There will be an 'extended version', as soon as I get more time, of the history behind the collection; when, how and why.

So stay tuned. In the new year I'll also be bringing on alot of skinning related articles, that I have been working on the past months - as time has allowed me. (Haven't had much free time lately)

Really off topic, but for  anumber of years I actually had such an app.  It was called DeadMansSwitch and would send emails to some friends and family that they should assume me dead and then wipe all my data.

I had been out of touch for a few years and it just seemed to make sense.

Just for the f**k of it I generated a txt file of all the skins, and I'm 100% sure that the forum/server would start coughing up blood if I posted it here....

2,923,244 chars
236,567 words
55,880 lines

Loaded the file up in Word..... :omg:

Font: courier new at 10,5 = 1001 A4 pages....

I doubt I'd be very popular if I did post it ;)

Hey there Snowman, awesome bloody collection you got there, awesome, how long has that taken you and how much space does it require, I'm just curious, cos I'm on the same route as you, but no where near where you are, but I'd like to get there one day, so congrats, that is one super collection k5 k5 k5 k5 k5 :thumbsup:

12 (approx) years and counting
21,3 GB and counting

I ain't planning on stopping just yet ;)
Progress has slowed down alot, but much more about that in one of my upcoming articles :)
