GalCiv2 Map Editor

I am trying to learn how to use the map editor.  I have successfully installed one of my created maps.  Here is the problem...no matter how many times I start or restart, I do not get any bonus tyles on my home world.  Can anyone make a suggestion?  Is there any way to control bonus tyles?

as far as my experience goes, the map editor is borked ...

Bonus tiles are random, they cannot be specified by the editor.

Its nice to have the map editor but it can be frustrating to use.

 

I'm currently putting together a Star Wars map, basically as many systems from Star Wars will be in it, but its difficult when the editor crashes half the time, or the fact its difficult to work out what a planet will look like (visually) unless you open the game up. Plus no option to choose gas giants  v_v

 

Still, I think its better than some editors that have been given out with games.
