Bootskin submission issue.

I have a problem with my latest bootskin submission. I've uploaded it and I've updated it. Both times I made sure the "show on personal page only" checkbox was unticked, yet it doesn't appear publicly.

AFter considering causes, I've come to the conclusion that it's possible that it is a "too sad for public display"-thing. I would hope to get some kind of notification of the fact if it is, so I can make an effort to get it up to standard. Personally, I like it the way it is, but I suppose I could put slightly more bling on it without ruining the entire point if it can be considered for the good of the public. :)

The skin in question is this one:

Once the moderators are done doing thier thing a message will always be sent out letting you know of the status of your submission.  Check you spam filter and junk mail to see if it didn't end up there.

I've got that for both submissions, and they congratulate me on getting it approved. The "Show on my personal page only" checkbox seem to be stuck though. I've done double rechecks of all settings both times I submitted it, and I'm absolutely certain that I've not had it selected.

Yep, this would seem to be the case.

It has been asked many times that the email sent from moderation state whether it is accepted to main or personal gallery. Maybe with the next edition of WC in 2009 they will change the emails as well.

Some skins don't make it to the public gallery.  it's happened to many of us.

Take a look here to see the company you now keep: https://forums.wincustomize.com/150760

I don't mind the fact. I mind not being notified though, and so should the mods, because they had to check my submission twice. It could easily have been three or nine times if I hadn't been clever enough to ask.

They should just add a statement that all submissions are not selected for the gallery on the submission page... It's not like it requires any major restructure of the website to do that.

I'll just hold my head high, and keep creating more of the sometimes ehm... unusual ... style of things I do. It's not a popularity contest... Or wait... It's a community...  Never mind, I'll just ignore that fact and hope my creations appeal to those with a slightly more esoteric taste. :)

Actually it takes quite a bit more time.  And the moderators are all volenteers; doing their best for the community.

If you want feedback on what you can do to improve a skin that goes to your personal page the forums are a good place to ask.  Everything in moderation of course.  ;)

It has been requested (by the mods) to have a statement added to the automated acceptance email that is generated to let the author know if thier work isn;t in the main gallery.  But just so you know . . the moderation system gets less attention to he other parts of WC.   It's understood that they are the back-office boys (and girls) and the public parts of the site should and will get teh dev time.  :)

There is a current beta available through Impulse that Bootskin Pro users should give a try. In Impulse click on the Stardock Orb, then check the box 'Show pre-release....' then refresh the MyDesktop page and update to the latest version. If you want to be careful uninstall the old version, restart, and then download a fresh copy of the beta.
