"The full version Stardock DeskScrapes is required to play this content." error

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have full version of DeskScrapes registred on Impulse.

However I still get "The full version Stardock DeskScrapes is required to play this content." error message, while trying to play any non-default versions of dreams.

I did try to uninstall/install the produckt in question number of times, with no sucess.

Thank you,

Sounds like you have an earlier build.  The trial in fact.

Uninstall and reinstall.  Between installations reboot and verify that you have it registered in impulse.

Could you also post your system specs? I ran into this on one of my machines too for some reason.

Reinstall didn not help.

My build is 2.50.067. (right click re-activate did not help as well) and I did check my registration is fine.

I did run it on this machine some time ago, uninstalled it and now trying to get it back :) (it has been few moths)

dewy99 and yanos1417 have you started a tech support ticket by emailing support@stardock.com?

I would also provide a link to this forum post.

Exactly the same is happening here. Just bought the new Object Desktop mainly because of the beautiful DeskScapes. Now I am stck with the same error. Reinstall didn't work here too.

I am using:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 in Asus P5Q Delux with 4GB DDR2 800MHz

Geforce 9800GT

Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit

I too have 64-bit Vista premium.  So I think we're having the same issue.  Will check on this.

I am also having this problem on select dreams:

  • Good Night Earth by Master Baron
  • Grassy Field by Stardock
  • Day and Night by Muckyman
  • Big Blue Sea HD by sntXrrr
  • Vista Ultimate Aurora HD by Daewon

All other dreams I have installed are functioning correctly (i.e. Winter Snow, Water Dream, Desktop Earth).  As far as I can tell, the problem dreams appear to be video dreams.  However, checking my installed codecs though Windows Media Player (Help>About>Technical Support) shows that Microsoft MPEG-2 Video Decoder (msmpeg2vdec.dll Version 11.0.6001.7000) is installed.  I am not receiving a codec error but the 'full version is required to play this content' error.  When I click on one of the affected dreams, the screen turns black, then there is about a two second delay before the error is displayed.  Thank you in advance.

Furthermore,
Does anybody know if it is possible to span the dreams across multiple monitors?  Such that all three of my monitors (given that I have two graphics cards) will each be displaying the same dream.

So that I can go from this:

current desktop

To this:

Specifications:

Deskscapes:  2.50.067
OS:  Vista Premium x64 SP1
GFX:  1x nVidia GeForce 6800; 1x nVidia GeForce 5200  (I know... 2x 9800GT's in the mail)
CPU:  Intel Core2 Q6600 @ 2.4GHz
Mobo:  nVidia nForce 680i
RAM:  4GB OCZ PC2-6400 DDR2

I am also having the same problem.  I purchased Object Desktop which comes with Deskscapes and have tried everything to make it work.  I uninstalled and rebooted and reinstalled and even uninstalled everything that comes with Object Desktop.  It did run before their was an update which I installed and ever since then it does not work.  I have several e-mails to support which they sent me a tool to uninstall which did not work.  Anybody have any more suggestions

well ... I found somewhat solution ... if one downloads no-Impusle copy of the DeskScrapes and ignores the update than it works - but this sure is not long term solution - still needs to be fixed.

IIRC there is no support for multi-monitor in dual-graphic card configurations at the moment. There used to be support in DreamScene for it (only with cards using the same graphic driver) but it was removed from the RTM version.

Okay, talked to them, fixed. There should be a new update today.

I checked Impulse and updated Deskscapes to v2.50.068.  I rechecked Impulse and it showed the previous version installed (*.067) with no update available.  I rebooted to no avail.  I then uninstalled Deskscapes and now Impulse only shows version *.067 available to install.  Was the update recalled or is this a bug?

EDIT:  Just rechecked Impulse and it shows the update. Installed and now those dreams are functioning perfectly.
