Cursor FX

I have Vista Home Premium.  I installed Cursor Fx (free) a couple of weeks ago.  It worked fine for a few days then it started locking up.  I uninstalled and re-installed a few times but it is still locking up on me.  It will only work if I download a new cursor but if I want to change to a different cursor and open up the control panel, it freezes.  Does anyone have any ideas?  Is it a Vista problem?

Thanks in advance.

Hi kitteelady,I have had the same issue with CFX repeatedly. It usually locks up on me in three week cycles and needs to be uninstalled/re-installed.I have re-installed it 11 times so far.Yup,I'm a glutton for punishment,I know, but I love the cursors.
The ONLY reliable way for me to get it to re-install and work has been to uninstall it using Revo uninstaller available free from here http://www.download.com/1770-20_4-0.html?query=Revo+uninstaller&tag=srch&searchtype=downloads&filterName=platform%3DWindows&filter=platform%3DWindows.   Uninstalling it normally leaves 168 reg entries behind  on my Vista rig which prevent it from re-installing properly. It simply locks right back up.

Use Revo on advanced, remove what it finds,(marked in bold) then reboot and you should have no trouble getting it to run after re-installing it.

wizard: do you have an open case with stardock support?  I'm not seeing what you are seeing (but I am using the paid version)

it could be a certain cursor package that makes it do that, I had same problem but seems to have gone now I got rid of all my cursor packs & started again I use the paid version allso I just install 1 now & then check to see if it still opens ok & seems to work for me

Being a free app,I requested no support, however I did notify them of the problem.I mentioned it several times in these forums as well. It's been that way since day one.Three weeks of use on average them boom-crash. The control panel will not respond. The fix I posted here is the only way I have found to repair it.

I tried it with only the included cursors and got the same results.

Since I'm not on my rig right now, and haven't been since Oct.2nd it hasn't crashed in awhile but I will post again when it does.

Hi Wizard,

Well, I tried what you suggested...and it didn't work for me.  I tried several times, but still no luck.  It is still freezing up on me.

Thanks anyway.
