It looks like a few lines at the very beginning of the debug.err file did not get pasted into your post. There are normally about 10 lines before the BIOS information. These would be things like, what version of the game you are running, what operating system you have, etc... These things are useful in finding out how to help you.

Regardless, from the looks of your debug.err report, there is some other missing data that leads me to believe that you are running an older version of the game. Most likely the retail version, 1.0. Please use Impulse to get your game fully updated, and do as Kryo suggests and see about updating your video drivers too.

Cool thanks. As I suspected, you are in fact running the retail version of the game (1.0). I think the version is up to 1.5 now with all the free updates that have been released since then. You'll want to get those updates so we can narrow down what is happening.

I'm going to assume that you don't know about Impulse, so I'll explain below:

When you installed Political Machine 2008, it will have also installed a program called Impulse, which is a free program that Stardock created for users to get free updates for games and other software. This program will have been installed to Start->All Programs->Stardock/Impulse. If you can't find it for some reason, you can go and get it here: http://www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup_full.exe

Anyway, once you have Impulse, run it and log in using the same user name and password that you talk on the forums with (this is your Stardock.net account and will work on all Stardock game forums, etc..). In Impulse, click on the blue orb in the upper left hand corner and select "Register a Product". Use that page to register your copy of Political Machine 2008 using the code that came in the box. Once that is done, it will show up in the My Games tab of Impulse. You can update it from there or by going to the Updates tab.

Once you have the updated version of the game, and have restarted your PC, try to run the game again. If you are still having problems, repost the entire contents of your new Debug.err file (it gets overwritten each time you run the game).

Thanks CrazyC! So far, so good. I actually had the Impulse and had thought that I had already downloaded all the needed updates but apparently, unknown to me, it didn't actually go through. I tried again yesterday. Impulse and the game files were updated and I played for a few hours with no glitches. Hopefully posting this information doesn't jinx me and cause problems again, but at least I can come here for help!

haha, good to hear man. If you do start having graphical problems, it could be related to your older video drivers. If you run into issues, repost in this thread and we can walk ya through updating the video drivers.
