Things disappearing .. Bug?

Really wasn't sure how to title this. However, I looked and searched through the other threads 1st and maybe it's something to do with my system only.:borg:

I just installed a DivX player and created 2 new text files on my main desktop. They work fine however I have to go through my computer to find them. I was going to add them into a Fence, But, They were GONE .8(| . might have something to do with me having a dual monitor set-up not sure. Just curious if is a bug just on my system or if anyone else has noticed this.

Once placed into a Fence they are acting normally. But no amount of searching seems to relocate them other than opening my desktop in a window. OH, and before I forget if I do a reboot they'll also appear normally.

Appreciate any input.

GWAD, I LOVE this program .. wonder what took so long for someone to get around to it?

Peace girlz .. :D

Well, can't really do a screenie since has already been done but, in order to find them and get them into a Fence I had to open C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Desktop and drag them from there into the Fence. Was really kinda odd. May have been a one time glitch not really sure. Since posting that I haven't had it happen again.

Maybe going out of what little mind I have left.

Appreciate the response though.

Ok.. guess not a fluke. I had made a temp folder on my DT yesterday to open a couple zips into and had it happen again.

I'm just going to post links since my whole DT gets a lil big with both monitors.

this is right after I made the folder and the folder SHOULD be here.

here's what I was talking about the folder is showing in the explorer window however it's not visible on the DT

and as soon as I open my Fences ... there it's back

HA .. and here I thought I was beginning to lose what LITTLE mind I had. Hope this helps to make things a lil clearer.

This same thing happens to me too.  Whenever I download something from the net I store it on the desktop.  I used to then drag it to a "Temp" fence before using it but now for some reason it's not visible on my desktop and I have to go look for it in Explorer instead which is pretty annoying! ;)

I'm trying an uninstall/re-install but if that doesn't fix it I'm afraid I'm going to have to uninstall because not having a working desktop is a bit of a deal-breaker.  This makes me sad because I adore Fences as much as I love Band Virtual Desktops on my task bar!

Actually, I think I found what the problem was.  I have two monitors which used to be primary on left and secondary on right.  I have PersonalBrain running full screen on the secondary display and do all my real work on the primary.

The other day I had a bit of a swap round and now my primary monitor is on the right with the seconary on the left.  It turned out that the "missing" files were being created on the secondary display, hidden under my full-screen application.  To be honest I think Windows default behaviour is to always create icons as far to the top left of the combined display as possible so this looks to be perfectly normal, if a little confusing, behaviour.  It doesn't look to be anything that's wrong with Fences, which is a relief!
