Better off with GCII Endless Universe or Gold Edition (U.S.A.)?

While checking GoGamer.com this morning I noticed that they were having a "48 hour" madness sale for GC2 Endless Universe ($21.90 + shipping).  I'm a Sins of a Solar Empire fan and I've been wondering if I might enjoy GC2.

Would I be better off getting the GC2 Gold Edition which would include Dread Lords but not Twilight of the Arnor or would it be better to have Twilight of the Arnor and not Dread Lords?  Are there any game play features in the Dread Lords version of the game that would not be included in the later expansions?  (I don't care too much about "campaigns".)

If I bought the game in the U.S. and live in the U.S. would I be unable to get updates and support for silly regional reasons?

Why oh why couldn't we just have one single comprehensive package that would include all of the content?

Most people would probably say the one with TA is the better choice. However if you opt against importing, you can just as well order TA direct.

Do note that at present GC2EU is not supported in Impulse, but we are planning to have it registerable around TA 2.0's release.
