Could My System Run Sins?

Hey all, just hoping to get a bit of confirmation on whether or not my laptop could run Sins. My main concern is my CPU which is a core2 duo 1.66. Obviously that's not enough for the recommended specs but is it enough for the minimum?

Under normal circumstances I'd just download the demo but half a gig is too much to download just to satisfy intellectual curiosity at the moment, my download limits won't be reset for another 2 weeks and I'm through most of my bandwidth...

CPU: Core2 Duo T5500 (1.66GHz)

RAM: 2GB

VC: Geforce Go 7600

OS: Vista Ultimate x64

It probably wont run amazingly, and you will have major problems playing on the Much larger maps, but could comfortably play a Small or Medium size map (which if you've never played sins, still translates to really big!)

I'm pretty sure you pass Minimum Requirements but check anyway: http://systemrequirementslab.com

well that site (which is a boody good idea) seems to think it'd go okay so I'll give it a bash and then confine myself to pure-email internet usage for the next fortnight. Cheers

yep no worries. No guarantees for your build when playing with lots of AI and on the Large and Huge maps: that would probably bring it to its knees.

Overheal - No idea what you're talking about. That computer would play sins very well, unless you're talking about 10 AI and 100 planet maps.

Anyways, there is a Demo for sins if you feel trying it out on your system before actually buying it.

You'll do fine even on really big maps provided you don't have the graphics settings at max.  Sins is capable of running on really low-end computers - I originally (before I got a really good laptop) had it on a 1.99GHz single core PC with only 512MB RAM and a crappy 5700VE Graphics card.  It lagged a bit in battles but was still playable.

That is in fact what I'm getting at though. But even on a 40 planet map with 8 players, once it gets into the mid-game you will see it grind down from all the ships in play.
