How does this work?

ok, so i finally found the files i've been looking for, but the mod program is in 15 pieces :O The files are the zip files here link . Someone on that thread they figured out how to put the files back together, without actually saying how to. I'm new to this kind of thing, and could really use the help on how to put these 15 pieces back together.

Thanks

i've been looking for that star trek mod, (its stickied in the mod forum, and the links to the mod are on page 40 of that thread) and they made a link to the mod on rapidshare, but the deal is that the mod is split into 15 zip files, and i don't know how to put those files back together so that i can put the mod in. i'm asking for instructions on putting those 15 zip files back together, so i can use it.

Just thinking out loud here, but wouldn't unzipping all the files and then placing all the that content into 1 folder do the trick. A mod requires all the files to be centrally located so thats what i would try anyway. Be sure to have a backup just in case something goes amiss.

Also, i would have imagined that there would be instructions located within the zips themselves. You looked?

If not, then perhaps a quick post in the ST mod thread will help you more than on the general boards. Not all folk are clued into each mod, posting to the specific mod thread may be better.

:)

Edit - Also just in case you are unaware. All the mods found on the GC2 site are fan creations. No mods, that i am aware of anyway, are endorsed or supported by Stardock. So keeping all questions pertaining to each specific mod to it's own thread will be certain to yeild you some more constructive help then the general forum community might be able to give.

Also you will find alot of the modding community at I-Mod Productions, i'm sure you would be able to get some help there as well.

i'm asking the general community because i don't understand why they won't unzip individually. i try to do it one at a time, and supposedly the files are corrupted, but other people have been using these files. I was hoping maybe someone who has used the star trek mod thats linked in that thread and got it to work could give me some help on opening it up. While i'm waiting for a response, i've been testing out ideas on how to get it to work. so far no luck, so again, any help would be appreciated.

Oh by all means mate ask away. just trying to point you in the right direction as i have no clue as to how to help you. When i d/l the ST mod it was in two files. That was sometime ago now though.

Maybe try going into the ST mod thread and pming Renfl or someone else in the dev team???

Best of luck. ;)
