Confused about the Applicationsfeatures

To much...

Hi, I am still using WindowBlinds since a year. In summer I updated to the full package and have a lot of nice tools on my PC.

But I am very confused about WindowsBlinds an mcColors. It seems to be th same, but one of them (WB) can edit the menu, one of them (mC) changes also the skni and added Tools - but for tools also  DesktopX available and so on. It it strrange for: To much Tools for similarly functions. So I donnot understand, why are so much Tools available. Instead I wished only one Tool for all.

E. G: Halloween myColor: Available for myColor but not for WindowsBlinds.

Am I the only one, who is very confused about this?

Kind Regards,

JonSi

Windowblinds is the application that changes the way Windows look's. (Mostly Explorer).

Iconpackager is the application that applies custom icons.

DesktopX is the application that runs the widgets/gadgets. (clocks, weather displays, calendars, etc)

These combined with other Stardock skinning programs, make up the MyColors desktop theming application. Basically MyColors is WB,IP,DX and other popular SD applications all rolled up in to one.

MyColors is the new one click way to customize your desktop with pre built suites. Many folks did not want to have to get to involved working with different applications to achieve a custom desktop look. So SD decided to make an easy to use desktop customization application, to apply the various skins needed for that fully customized Desktop look. Hence MyColors was born.

The Halloween WB is included within the MyColors suite and is installed when you install the MyColors Halloween suite. If you install the MyColors Halloween suite, then open WB config Window, you will see it is listed there as My Colors utilizes WB and the other programs to apply MyColors suites.

Now when applying a MyColors suite you can choose which items to apply. Open MyColors, select the settings tab, check the " I want to see advanced options when applying suites" radio box. This will make MyColors open a menu every time you change suites, from which you can pick and choose what elements to apply to the suite.

Example: Wallpaper or Windowblind , or a DX gadget if the suite has one.

I hope this answers your questions.
