Endless Universe in U.S.

I just played the Dark Avatar demo, and really enjoyed it, so now I'm looking into buying the full game. The Endless Universe bundle looks like what I'd like to get, and it's available online from U.S. sellers, but I've seen a lot of posts mentioning that it's only a European release. Will I still be able play EU and have it fully supported, or will registration/updates be blocked if I'm running it on a computer outside of Europe?

Also, is it worth getting the original GC2: Dread Lords game for the campaign, in addition to the expansions? How long is the campaign, and is it worth paying much more to be able to play it rather than just reading up on the storyline on the wiki or something?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Im no Stardockian but from what i have read as yet there is no support for Endless Universe but around the time TA 2.0 has been released it should be in Impulse and one would then assume, full support. I don't think you will be able to purchase EU in Impulse but updating your copy should be ok.

I would reccomend though, that you start with Dread Lords and buy the full pack.

It's not a bad price and you get the full experiance. Not sure about the campaign, never played them, but the game play difference between the three games (DL,DA,TA) does differ greatly and as such each version offers their own unique experiance.

It is and will remain available at retail in Kalypso's territories only (Europe, primarily). Those in the US generally have credit or debit cards, so they can order directly from us. As well, US users don't need localizations.

i just saw endless universe at a game store today in london

does endless universe have anything that owners of dl/da/ta don't already have?

is the extra stuff going to be available through stardock or in a future patch or anything?

End of quote

No new content. Kalypso put wording on their box that may imply that is the case, but it is not.

The only thing GC2EU has that the NA/direct versions do not are the localizations, but that's not really an "extra".

could probably use a big fat sticky right at the top to save yourself having to answer the same question a bunch of times :)

I ordered Endless Universe off of Amazon.com, Amazon themselves don't sell it but they do have some US vendors listed that do, mostly smaller, independently owned gaming stores it looked like.  I ordered it and it just came in the mail yesterday.  I don't have access to internet right now other than at work, and even here most gaming websites like galciv2.com are blocked(but stardock.com isn't, hehe), so I'm quite pleased that I was able to get it.
