Gal Civ 2 on a netbook (MSI wind)

OK, I recently picked up an MSI wind (well, the cheaper but identical Advent 4211 really, but that's not important). Since I had four hour train journey to Edinburgh over the weekend (via Carlyle from Newcastle) I thought I should install something to keep me occupied. Gal Civ 2 was the obvious choice, and it runs beautifully (after a little tweak to the config file). Graphic are fine, game speed great and it's engrossing enough to help me forget National Express's terrible service...

...however, I have run into a bit of a problem with the resolution. Since the Wind only supports 1024x600, I can't actually run the game in it's minimum res. The congifuration tweak was very helpful in this, making it quite playable, but I still have a problem with certain windows being too big for the screen, meaning I can't click the button to close them. The uprgrade window and the ethics window are two examples of this.

I'm aware it's a little cheeky asking for help since I'm techinically trying to run it below spec, but any ideas anyone? Ideally a work around, but alternatively a keyboard shortcut to let me confirm or close these windows.

Cheers,

Ed

There's not really an easy solution aside from running at 1024x768 with panning, or similar. Otherwise, the entire interface would need to be redone and/or rescaled, but we have no plans to do that and I haven't seen any modding on that front either.

running the game in a window perhaps ? with a 1024x768 (or higher) panned desktop ????
