McCain Defends Obama

This is getting interesting.

So apparently that terrorist seed has taken root and grown into a horrible plant. McCain actually defended Obama at his own rally.

Guess you should really watch what you throw out there, guys. Now you have to undercut your own smear campaign because it's gotten out of hand.

Seriously. An people were wondering why I (and other peoples) were upset about always using Obama's middle name?

Come on! This is just encouraging the borderline racism, xenophobia, islamophobia and giving it a clear (although wrongly) target to publicly use. That's one of the thing I'll remember about this election: the republicans used the Americans' worst mentality to try to win it.

How many people actually believe Obama is a muslim? How many people think Obama is a secret muslim that is supposed to destroy america? These are ludicrous theories, but many people believe in them! And if YOU know it's a stupidity, keeping saying "Barack Hussein Obama" is simply feeding that kind of stupidity, and you are as much responsible about it.

Not reallly. I think the country is tired of Lee Atwater style political campaigns. There are more and more independents, many who are tired of divisive politics, and many young voters who see how it is affecting their future.

Whoever thought up the campaign position, "LOL OBAMA IZ A TERRORIST AND A A-RAB" needs to be slapped in the fucking face.

To go straight to Godwin's Law...how many candidates were accused of being Nazis during the WWII era and did people send out chain letters attributing them to the antichrist? I'm used to political mudslinging and negative bullshit ads...but there's a point where you have say, "Hey, this isn't cool, guys." I think when you're merging a political opponent and the current enemy of the nation you may have taken a couple steps into Blatant Asshole Town.

You forgot the Communist accusations too! Actually things like this can be traced far enough back to the origina elections and candidiates being called British Loyalists. The birth of the smear campaign began with the third election Thomas Jefferson vs. Samual Adams.

I thought it was the Karl ROve type. Each year, we get a new villian, and they are always republicans to some. Problem is, you dont remember losers, only winners. James Carville anyone?

Very true, There is plenty of demonizers to go around on both sides.

True, but I haven't heard any Obama supporters yelling out that McCain should be killed at any of Obama's rallies like some McCain supporters have done.

It's interesting that McCain has backed off of that tack. I am betting that after people shouted out "Terrorist" and "Kill Him" at a couple of McCain's rallies that the Secret Service went to Sen. McCain and said "okay look, the behavior of some of your supporters at your rallies is starting to make us nervous, and you don't want us to become nervous."

The thing is that McCain has to dial down the rhetoric before somebody decides that they are going to do their "patriotic duty" and go to an Obama rally with a deer rifle and a laser scope.

I did a few searches and the only thing I could find was various reports about caucasus between Obama and Clinton. Both sides repeadtly claiming that supporters of both candidates were being "unruly". Nothing offensive though. McCain is one the political untouchables becasuse of the myth he built up around him self. I mean how many times has he reminded of his 2 years of torture and five years in captivity. At least enough to make almost forget the 600 who came home with him. And enough to forget the the other 600 pows who never came home(who McCain and John Kerry have done their best to make sure as little as possible come out about them).
