Serial # won’t take

My Colors and Impulses problem

Hello all, 

Before I begin... (Anyone who is not familiar with Stardocks products) I want to say this hell is worth it.  Their products are phenomenal.  I still don't like the issues.  It does however make it more tolerable to know they are worth it.

 

I must admit, I hate for this to be my first post...  I purchased Object Desktop Ultimate yesterday.  After an evening of pure torture installing and uninstalling and then finagling around with my temp and .dll files I finally got it to work with the exception to "My Colors".  It simply won’t take the only serial they sent me.  The program keeps telling me I need a 25 key serial # in a different format from the one I got with Ultimate. 

What do I do? 

Component tray doesn't work.... Can't download My Colors Quest Desktop and I keep getting decompression errors.  Also,am I suppose to install all 3 of the SkinStudio apps? 
 

I have to say, I can't stand Impulse.  If I never saw that app again I would be thrilled.  Decompression errors, authorization errors, wonderful lockups and the most fun of them all! Impulse just decides not to boot when it doesn’t feel like it. -errrrrrrr 

Isn't there a way I can download the .zip, .exe... etc of the apps I bought so I never have to endure that hell again?  Admittedly, I did receive a 210meg file... but it didn't install all of my programs from ultimate.... rendering it ultimately useless.

Thoroughly frustrated :)

Again, sorry for this being my first post.  Hopefully my future posts will include less complaining :)  

One last thing… Is Object Dock Plus worth the extra money? I know it’s sort of a vague question… Sorry.

If you haven't done so already, please email support@stardock.com and start a trouble ticket. They will be able to assist you.

I have already done so....  I was just hoping it was something silly.  Wanted to play this weekend (off work)  and their not in until Monday :(

Quick question - Am I to assume that I should have recieved an additional serial # or that the OEM serial with Ultimate should work?

The serial number you received for Object Desktop Ultimate should be all you need for the programs that are associated with Ultimate.

Also,am I suppose to install all 3 of the SkinStudio apps?

SkinStudio is used to create skins so if you plan on getting started right away on making your own skins .......

IMO - yes

You could also try installing the Object Desktop Ultimate programs using Stardock Central. This will not work for MyColors though.

Well, I still have yet to hear from support. I currently can't use my product that I paid 69.00 for. To say that I am getting a little annoyed would probably be an understatement. But, I digress.... Complaining solves nothing.

Support; please get back to my ticket as without a working serial # this is not exactly money well spent.

Stardock was experiencing  server issues over the weekend which likely caused most of your problems.
