Downloaded Map Problems

I am having trouble using maps that I download, I can extract them into the Gaxaly file of sins, where all the other maps/scenarios are in the game yet It will not appear as an option in the Scenarios/Custom Maps. Specificaly the Map is Haloverse which is a map based on the halo franchise and I use the download link on this website to bring me to the actual download website. I download pretty quick, which worries me as I have a slower comp then it opens up in my downloads with winzip, I then extract the files into the gaxaly folder and I am not sure what step I am  missing/doing wrong. Please help o wise Sin's Forum!

The map won't show up under Custom, it will be among all the other maps ;) Also, open it up in Notepad and make sure versionNumber is set to 1, if you're playing 1.05 :)

Ok but when I downloaded it my file list only showed it as one big file, no notepad included im probably being a noob here so I apoligize in advance

Notepad is the little text file editor that comes with Windows ;)

Usually can be found at Start - Programs - Accessories.

well I mean I know what notepad is, and yes the number is 1, I mean it got formated to a galaxy file just as all the other maps are do I have to download some program to allow maps/mods to work. I repeated the process a couple of times using two different sources yet still the same file. Kinda off topic but its doing the same thing with my gmod downloads. Does my computer just not accepting the data because it's classifiying it as foriegn or I am forgetting to flip the big "MOD ON" switch?

Shouldn't be needed to activate a mod for just a map. It should appear with the other "Official" maps.
