A problem with explorer.exe

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with ObjectDock Ver.1.90 build 536; I have installed everything and seems to work fine, but when I restated the computer the OD seems not to work (no Icons Panel), the system tray icons dont appear and the whole computer is blucked, I had to click Ctrl+Alt+Del to logon off and log on again, before that I have to end the explorer exe, when I log on again every thing works fine, What could be wrong?

Thanks in advance

See here:

  1. What OS and/or service pack are you running?
  2. Is your OS updated?
  3. Where did you download OD from?
  4. What version of OD are you running? Free or Plus?
  5. If Plus, did you uninstall OD Free before installing Plus?

[If Free, you won't get System Tray icons]

Are you referring to the normal systray icons in the XP bar?

could have been just a glitch

once you logged on again you said it was fine. is it still fine?

Hi,

Yes, I amreferring to the normal systray icons in the XP bar and its fine when I logged on again, I have even tried it wih SP3 and its the same problem. Thanks

Do you mean these icons?

If yes, then let me tell you:

You have the free version of ObjectDock. The system tray icons aren't available in the free version.

OD works fine for me in SP3.

If all the other problems are gone except the system tray, then it's good.

Pixeleo -   Samherzog isn't referring to ODock's system tray - the issue is XP's systray (which is tied into the the 'explorer error').

I use ODock Freeloader version - my XP system tray works just fine.

Samherzog - maybe a bad install?  have you tried an uninstall, reboot, reinstall, reboot?

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your replies, Yes I am refering to the windows XP system tray, When I reconfiger the OD free version with other icons (usual icons inside the OD application), remove and add new shortcuts on the OD panel and reboot the windows xp; at the first rebbot the windows looks to be blocked when it starts loading the WinXP system tray and the OD panel doesn't appear, I can't even click on Start>Programs, so I have to click Ctrl+Alt+Del to end the explorer.exe then logoff and logon again after that every thing works fine, I get the WinXP system tray icons and the OD panel. it looks like the OD blocks the explorer.exe or the explorer.exe blocks the OD from loading.

Thanks again
