AutoCollage 2008 from Microsoft Research

I saw a post early this morning from Brandon LeBlanc at the Windows Experience Blog.  He was talking about a release from the Microsot Research team called AutoCollage 2008.

From the MS Research site:

"Photo collages celebrate important events and themes in our lives. Pick a folder, press a button, and in a few minutes AutoCollage presents you with a unique memento to print or email to your family and friends."

You can see a demo video here.  I was able to put together a decent collage image in just a matter of seconds, but it would be nice if the trial didn't leave a watermark.  It looks like a great start to an application, but some polish work is needed, and I will definitely keep my eye on it.

This is the image I created this morning.

Interesting.

I've been playing with Photosynth from MS labs recently.  I don't know how it's a viable product, but it's neat.

Seems like a very cool program. I look forward to testing it myself at home. Thanks for the article ID.

They should release it as an Ultimate Extra.
