WindowBlinds 6.30 Release

This release for WindowBlinds 6.30 adds new skinning options for layer blend modes. See the betas of SkinStudio 6.30 to check that out.

Support for a number of blending modes for layers
Breadcrumb bar text positioning no longer changes depending on if the window is maximized
Do not shift text when button pressed skin option (edit in SKS)
64 bit has had some tweaks to handle bad sizing of the addressbar
Shadow effect now works on very transparent things like the diamond taskbar clock text.

After installing the latest update from today I am stuck in constant reboot (i.e., WB keeps telling me it has to reboot).  Is there an easy fix for this beyond an uninstall/reinstall?

Guess specs of some sort would help, not sure what all you want/need:

Vista Home Premium SP1
Dell Inspiron 1520
2 GB RAM
nvidia 8600M GT, driver 175.80

Guys I need some help

 

I got an error message on updating to 6.30 on my xpsp3 system - wblind.dll could notbe copied to path of wb. I had an  image of my system so i used that wblind.dll - but its not the same

ok, I did something else -I went back to th eimage from last night and did the update via central - and as I suspected -it worked perfect. Somehow this impulse stuff is getting on my nerve

Just an update, I went ahead and did an uninstall/reinstall and am still stuck with the reboot screen.

And a final update, this time it's working, here's my steps ...

  • Backup Skins
  • Uninstall
  • Reboot
  • Delete all Windowblinds folders
  • Reinstall
  • Reboot

Works like a champ.  But, I've had to do this with both of these new beta releases, just hope it doesn't continue with each subsequent release.

I am still convinced that this is an impulse problem - I did the image before using impulse, impiulse wrecked my system with missing wblind.dll and central did its usual great job.

 

Please fix Impulse!!!

So, got home late this evening, new update on Impulse.  Download, install, reboot ... guess what's happening again ... any thoughts on what I need to do to fix this?  It has only started happening with these new betas.

Do you have a file called wbsrv.dll in your c:\program files\stardock\objectdesktop\windowblinds folder?

Are VistaSrv.exe and WBVista.exe also in there?

If you go to services is Stardock WindowBlinds listed?

Missing wbsrv.dll, hmmm. Admin rights aren't an issue, wonder why it's not installing that file?

Have vistasrv.exe and wbvista.exe, and service is there and running.

Update: Impulse downloaded and installed an update. WB update worked afterwards.

 

Don't know what changes were in the Impulse update, but it fixed the WB update problem. ;)

Hey, I searched through here and couldn't find anything on this yet.... with the latest beta, the folders in the "open" dialog in Adobe CS3 (I can verify the issue with Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash CS3) are sorta...... black. When you mouse over, the "blackness" goes away, but the text becomes all distorted. Hard to explain, so I took a screenie. I've tried multiple skins, the only one I've actually had any luck with was "Diamond" which I already have Vista, and I'm not too fond of the Diamond skin. The skin I'm using below is Sirus, but like I said, it's happening with multiple skins.

I've uninstalled the latest beta, and it goes back to how it should.... weird stuff I tell ya.
