Where do you put downloaded maps?

Noob here, but the search function only pointed me to the galaxy forge beginners guide, which doesn't really answer my question that I can find. 

I've downloaded a couple of custom galaxy maps, but they do not appear for me to choose when starting a new game.  I've tried placing them in programfiles/stardock/totalgaming/sinsofasolarempire/galaxy next to the other maps, but they're a no show after starting up the game.  I'm running 1.1 beta. Any clues where I should put them? 

Anyone care to help a clueless old geezer blow stuff up good?

It should be in the install directory's galaxy folder, and it will appear with all the regular maps.

Hmm, that's where I've put them, not appearing with the other maps though.

What version of the game and what version do the maps have if you open then up?

Sins 1.05 requires the map to have a versionNumber of 1, and 1.09 with a versionNumber of 2.

Yes, thanks.  Switched the version number to 2 using notepad and all is well.
