30 Seconds wait after playing a fullscreen game

I'm using ObjectDock Plus 1.9 Build 537u in Vista x64 SP1. Whenever I play a fullscreen game (e.g. EVE Online) and leave the game or use ALT-TAB to check my mails etc., it takes around 30 seconds until Objectdock is usable again. It's there, but moving the cursor to an icon just shows the "busy" cursor for half a minute. It's getting quite annonying. I'm using an ATI Radeon HD 4870 and had the problem with Catalyst 8.7 and now with 8.8 it is still there. My machine is not THAT slow that switching from fullscreen to desktop should take ObjectDock 30 seconds to calculate something. It's a Quadcore with 3,6 GHz and 8 GB DDR2-1066...

First thing I'd do is remove all your docklets and see if you still have issues. If not add them back one at a time until you find the culprit. It's ALMOST always a docklet.

One other item I've noticed is some of the new hardrives that go into a "power saving" mode can hold up not only OD+ but Windows Explorer and any other program whose data resides on them. That's if you have any shortcuts that access it.

I'm not using any Docklets, they are disabled... and I'm using a 2 GB RAMDisk for my standard programs, ObjectDock is installed there, which makes the problem even less understandable ;) Photoshop starts in 3 seconds from there.

I'm using a 2 GB RAMDisk

Is this space the game cannot address? Is it possible that after running the game OD has to be reloaded in ram?

No, even when I'm playing the game, there is 4 GB free in my system. I just found out if I disable (!) the fullscreen detection, the time goes down to approx. 12 seconds...
