1.09 is not downloading

I read other forum posts that said to select the new download method by clicking on the giant blue orb, which i did. the download then started, and then has stop and stayed at 0.8% for a half hour. is there anything i can do to make sure its actually downloading, and make it download faster? (its not paused in case you thought i just can't read)

It always seems to get stuck at .8% for everyone who posts about it getting stuck. I don't think anyone actually figured out how to get around it. Eventually, I think, it should finish.

You *could* uninstall the game and re-download it pre-patched to 1.09. This will use Stardock's super fast download servers rather than the patch servers and might even be faster than just trying to get the patch.

gas of doom,

Here's something I posted to another thread.... (if you understand my instructions, give em a try!)

You could perform a "netstat -a" from the command-prompt (this will give you the IP Impulse is connecting to)

Then preform a "tracert" also from the command-prompt (eg. tracert xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <-- the x's are the IP) to find out where the "bad hop" is in your route to SD.

Knowing that, you could add a custom route statement to your PC to change the route your PC would take to SD in order to bypass the "bad hop".

If my instructions above make sense to you, try them and you should have success. If they don't make sense to you.......what can I say? I'm sorry.

thanks,

the Monk

It appears this Impulse application has two speeds, dead slow and frozen solid, which makes it hard to tell what the hell is actually happening. That's when it works at all.

Click the blue ORB in the upper-left and select "show pre-release versions"

All I know is it's been sitting at 319bytes for 3+ hours now for me... I've paused and unpaused it, canceled and restarted. Nada.

If you understand what I'm suggesting in Reply #2, give it a shot!  ;)

Given Zubaz' post in another thread, I would definitely recommend you uninstall Sins and just download the full pre-patched to 1.09. It uses their really fast servers and won't bog you down on the update.
