Galaxy Forge Error

I recently downloaded the galaxy forge thing, available on this website, and it won't run.

It says someting about a .NET framework initialization error it says it needs some net framework version 2.0.50727

Im not a computer person, so can someone help me please?

Yeah, I gave up on this along time ago, it said i needed .net 2.0 and i had 3.0 or 4.0, can't remember which, I asked on the forums a couple times and noone answered.

Anyways, .NET is a microsoft product that comes with most if not all windows copies, although you can download it from their site too. Hope you have better luck.

Now ive got another galaxy forge problem XD

Whenever I make a map, and put it in the galaxy folder like i'm supposed to, the map will not appear in-game. I can't find any of the custom maps at all except the ones designed IN-GAME.

I downloaded a couple of cusom maps of the web and they dont work either.

Is there something i'm doing wrong?

Put the GF maps into the galaxy folder under "Program Files". Also, if you're running the beta patch, you'll need to change the version line in the file manually with notepad.

And when you do what Kitkun said, they'll mingle with all of the other game maps. They're not shown in the "Custom maps" tab, that's only for the in-game built maps.

I've got the same error as General Napoleon. Has there been a resolution or fix? I've installed .net framework 4, that looks like the latest from Microsoft... still no joy. Weirdness!

you need the dot.net 2.5 from microsoft windows updates to run galaxyforge 3 which is for sins/entrenchment & diplomacy ONLY, and will create maps that will CRASH rebellion in it's current version.

Ah, well that SUCKS. LOL

Will there be a version of GF that WILL work for Rebellion? Or do we know yet? I haven't been able to find anything to that effect yet.

you already HAVE it in your steamapps\sins of a solar empire rebellion\galaxyforge folder as it is part of the entire rebellion package
