Circle the wagons and regroup

Not even your Community search engine works.

You might as well add your "Community" search engine to the long list of Stardock projects that do not work.  When I search for even the simpliest of terms that should score hundreds of responses I get either no reponses, one response or the server tells me to wait and try back in an exact number of seconds-- 21 on my last try.

With Impulse causing numerous problems, Cursor FX and XP not being able to keep cusors "on top" of toolbars, Icon Packager not even being able to change single icons without a registration error and on and on, it would sure be nice to be able to search for answers on the forums.  Even when you can find answers they are from the customers-- not Stardock-- and there are almost none-- or just plain none-- that work.  And this is just on the desktop customizing titles I buy.

Just a suggestion.  Maybe you should stop developing more applications until the ones you have now actually work they way they were advertised to work.  Impulse was supposedly developed to be able to download, register and update your software and other software.  It too is buggier than a Minnesota campground.

Put on the brakes, pull all the troops from the development side and get them to work on all the problem software they created and stop making more.  I certainly can't justify buying another piece of Stardock software until some of the stuff I've already accumulated and paid to update actually work.

I'm with you on the search engine but, sadly they aren't the only site lacking in that department. Personally, I always use Google and do a site search if I'm looking for a specific answer.

One thing I've noticed in all the years of being here is that people complain about this or that bug but, then when you ask them if they submitted a bug report to Stardock the predominant answer is "no". Have you submit your bugs to tech support?

While most developer's are fairly intelligent, I've notice that they are sadly lacking in their ESP skills? I for one would like to see Brad spend more time and money in cultivating this underdeveloped skill. After all why should I have to tell tech support when I have a problem when I can just think about it? ;p

I've been around the block a few times so I've learned that it's best to wait with a lot of this stuff. I won't touch Impulse with a ten foot pole until I stop hearing bad things about it. Obviously it's not perfected yet and I admit that being free how can ya complain?

There are times that Stardock reminds me of Microsoft in that they put stuff out there before it's really ready.

Heh.  The difference is that Microsoft calls it done for the most part.  Stardock has always been pretty honest that thier stuff might be buggy and the community can help improve it.

I'm on the first lap.I plan on finishing too, even if it kills me.
So far I've learned:

Broken software is not the end of the world. :SNIFF!:

A little patience is often the best repair."This to shall pass" :p

Updates either fix things or break things.(no telling which or for whom) ;p

Any updates on Fridays are best avoided until Monday. X-(
I plan on learning more but my brain is full until I delete some stuff.
