Try un-installing SINS completely and re-installing via Impulse. That way you're downloading the already patched-to-beta version and not having to wait for the update server to look through 800+ changed files...

This was suggested by Yarlen on IRC and some people have already been having success doing it that way...

Odd... I updated with impulse with no problems at all, just took 10 mins.

Same happened here, TWICE; I've spent about 6+ hours today trying to get so-called "No Hassle" Impulse to update my game. Hours of waiting, only to check and see "Download Error" again and again.

I have the disk/box, so having to unistal it all, then reinstall/download Gigs of stuff does not sound like an easier/shorter option to me; especially since I also heard some guy's horror story upon doing so.

If Impulse won't connect or download, try the alternate download option in the preferences (click the blue orb in the corner).

Please give your download a try again.  We believe it might have something to do with daylight savings time so we adjusted on our main D/L server to help with this.

Curious, are your downloads taking over 1 hour?

Did your download take under 1 hour?

Yes, Took a couple of mins.

My internet is 2mbit/second.
How big is the patch file? I went afk while downloading.

Yep. Sure are. I'm only 256 ADSL, though.

I left it for 2 hours, and watched it change from 80.1% to "Download Error" when I checked it.

I've restarted it, and it has started again at zero... doesn't Impulse resume?

How many kbps is your connection?

Mine is approx 380kb/second

About 29.5kb/sec.

Tried it again... same result, at the same point (80%).

However, on the 3rd time it has asked if I'd like to Resume. I picked "yes", but it started from zero again.

I've been having the same problem, I have a similar download speed (the max is roughly 26kb/sec). I've tried downloading it about five times and get the same error.

Success!!! 4th time lucky.  :HOT:

Sorry mate... at first I didn't understand what you meant by "alternate download option in the preferences" -- after a couple of Impulse updates this option eventually revealed itself. I enabled it, and it worked. I also reckon that the Auto Restart Impulse after Update option in the General preferences should always be enabled, too.

Onward...!
