Serial Number Invalid

WHen trying to register my game so I can update it, I cant seem to find my serial number.  Is this different than t he cd key?? I enter my cd key which is all ic an find and it says invalid serial number.  I threw away the packaging on the outside of the cd case so if its on there then im screwed.  Is there anyway to register with the cd key?

It's the one on the back of the manual for me. If that doesn't work, you may need to contact support.

Don't fret, most people's serial numbers dont work anyway. You probably entered the right one, but it wasn't recognized or something.
