any way to turn of pirates

ive been playing the game for about 3 months now and find myself best with advent....however when i play 1v1 maps against the computer i usually outbid for the first pirate raid but then get really screwed after....is there anyway to turn the pirates off....i find that in 1v1 games it hurts the computer at the beginning but then all it does it give more exp to their cap ships.

Yes, goto game options (Bottom of the screen) when your creating the game and where it say pirates click once and it will say inactive.

You can't turn off pirates, they will always be in the game. If you go to Game Options when you are loading or creating a game, you can make the pirates inactive. When the pirates are inactive, they stay at their base. I used that to beat my first game. Before I found out that you could make them inactive, I usually lost quickly or lost lots of ships.

i have the same problem that G0tchas has....maybe my version isnt updated....i also found that when i tried to update my game by putting in the serial number it wouldnt go through for some reason...anyone know why?

Maybe you have to update the game, G0tchas. I updated the game right after I installed it. jquintero122, I don't know why the serial number isn't working. Hopefully a Stardock person will post here and say why it's not working :D

Ya same for me, i got the update, and now i can turn off the pirates, so get the update. simple as that.

You can also just kill the pirates. Thats fun too. You can be all like "WHO'S GOT THE BOUNTY NOW YOU SON OF A &!$@#?

I had them inactive for my first game so I could win without worrying about them attacking me unless I go on a little stroll through their base. In one game I tried to build about 200 Cobalt Light Frigates (TEC) but I won before they were all done... LOL.

I discovered that I needed to install the latest update to get the option to make Pirates inactive. Now I leave them to play with each other instead of harassing me ;)
