Tourism Event

AKA: The infinite money event

Was the + to tourism income event always such a game breaker? In the games I play whenever that event comes up, I have so much money I don't have to worry about econ ever again, even though I'm flat out buying expensive wonders and super projects as soon as they become available. I notice that the AI covers all its planets with factories under the event. I can understand making tourism, normally kin to trade for income strength, being boosted to something near normal tax rates, but to utterly swamp any other potential form of income suggests to me that some of the underlying numbers on this event are out of date.

Yes, afaicr it's been always like that. In theory it ould stir things a bit up, but in practice it will probably always make the strong ones even stronger and the weak ones still weaker in comparision.

Imo the event "impact" could stay as it is, but should be very short duration (like for 1 month only) and not as it is now "for ages"

I noticed the huge impact in my last game. Set my taxes to 0 and could still afford to buy everything in sight. The effect lasted what seemed like a year or more, right up to the end of the game. Had over 2M credits in the bank at the end. It needs to be shortened and/or toned way down IMHO.

I haven't seen this yet. Is it just a randomly occuring thing like finding a Precursor ship?

Yes random, and I've got it with Meg Events turned off so it must not be a mega event or its bugged, because the effect is MEGA
