click on teh start button, type 'services' (without the quotes), open the first result. scroll down to Desktop Window Manager, right click and choose start.
Make sure it is set to automatic, if not, go to the properties of that service and set it to automatic

did that, same result...says the service "uxsms" not started...?

...and that's probably because it only ships with ultimate, right?

Nope,I have it with Home Basic, too.Go to control panel>appearance and personalization>change color scheme and make sure Aero is applied. If you have a WB loaded it may be switched to Windows Standard. Unload WB,make sure it goes back to Aero and try running DeskScapes.
