Had to uninstall WB and objectdock.

If this gets a bit long winded. Forgive me. I have been under the impression that I had a virus or a trojan. I went to CastelCops Wiki and for the past four days scanned my C:/ drive so many times that I forget how many. I run windows XP pro. sp3. One Care live for protection. Spybot, etc, etc. Each scan would come back with no threats found. So the only thing left to try was remove WB and Objectdock. And all of the strange things went away.

Some of the errors that were happening didn't call up an error message. But there was a lot of locking up. Windows Explorer would close when I clicked on any of the File, Edit, Etc, Etc. The desktop TaskBar and all of the desktop icons would disappear for three seconds if I right clicked on the TaskBar. Most of the errors would happen when I right clicked my mouse. The little window that pops up when you right click, non of the buttons would respond to mouse over or clicking on any of them. After a while this little window would open and have nothing inside of it.  At the end of it all the Start/ Programs would open but have nothing inside of it. I opened the run command and it came up with a clear background. I could type something in but the buttons were unresponsive. And it would not close. There is a number of other small errors but I just can't remember all of them. They all went away when I unistalled WB and Objectdock. I still have SkinStudio 6 pro, Theme Manager, and Impulse still installed. I'm thinking about re-installing WB. To see if the errors come back or not. Well at least I know beyond any doubt that I do not have ANY malware, spyware, virus, trojan or what have you. After four days of scanning with almost every scanning program out there. If there is something hiding on this computer of mine. It's really new and very stealthy. Have any of you heard of this? I would really like to have both of these programs back. I really liked them.

Well I just re-installed WindowBlinds. And I still get the desktop going black (Everything disappearing.) If I right click on the TaskBar. So WB is part of the problem. Anyone know what this is all about?

Sounds like you running nview. Nview and windowblinds conflict and the explorer thing is a symptom. When you re-install make sure your anti-spyware, firewall, anti-virus stuff is all disabled or the installation will be borked.

Given that amount of trouble, the first thing I'd do is start up a ticket with Stardock support WWW Link and reference this thread.

They're primarily Mon-Fri and this Friday's a holiday so it could be a few days before you get a real reply.

Some things anyone else who comes along here will want to know are:
Is it XpPro 32bit or 64bit
If you installed the free or paid version of OD
Double checking that you installed the paid version of WB, not the demo, seems like it would be since you've got SkinStudio 6 pro and theme manager.
And you did get the software from Stardock, right? - again just double checking

So you might save yourself some response time in the forum if you clarify those points, but ya I'd start up the ticket right up front. (And I'm just trying to get you going here, I'm not going to have a clue of anything to tell you from here on in.)

edit: And as usual someone who has a clue had a suggestion while I was sitting here pecking away  ;p

Yes I do have Nview. My XP Pro is a 32bit. I had the free OD version. But it will remain un-installed for now.
Yes I have the paid version of WB and SS pro. I paid for the package. My motherboard is an ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe with two NVIDEA GeForce 7600 GT video cards. I am not using the SLI option. I have a desktop monitor and a 48 inch LCD TV hooked up to the second one.
Last but not least yes I got the downloads from StarDock. So now I need to uninstall WB and reinstall it with all of my "protection" turned off. That will be my next move. I will start a ticket with support.
Thanks!
