Starting Placement

So, my friend and I like to duo it up against the AI, right? Well, the problem we have noticed is that when we play on some maps with multiple star systems, the AI is *always* in our same star system. Now, this wouldnt be too bad, normally, however, it makes games like the map, "Gateway" really retarded. The whole concept of the map is that there are 2 star systems and one planet controls the jump point. What's the point of this map if the AI is going to be in the *same* star system. It defeats the whole point of the map.

With that said, has anyone else noticed this with a lot of the other maps? Does it happen in multiplayer games with human players only? Basically, I feel the developers should look into this issue and see if we can fix the spawning (of at least the AI) of enemy teams when it comes to maps like this. Or maps in general...

The point of Gateway is to get to the other system to secure a safe star system with lots of resouces. Hence there is a fight over it.
If they started in the other system you wouldn't have a fight for an hour while everyone built a fleet and did the research

Oh, I read it the other way. As in, that planet is the bottleneck for defending attacking at and finally pushing through on each others' sides for a full-fledged battle to be waged.
