how to start a mission

i got a popup thingy asking me to take a mission. but when i click on the log report i have no way of accepting it. instead the top alert about pirates on their way keeps popping up.. how do i start the mission which is underneath that?

Go into the diplomacy menu at the top of the UI, all missions are automatically accepted and you can keep track of each in the mentioned menu.

Just look for the player with the yellow flashing light beside their name, that means there is a new message from them to you that you haven't inspected yet.

You need to play with unlocked teams to get missions.
