Wincustomize Browser shows FAILED whenever I try to download something.

For the last 3 or 4 days, whenever I use Wincustomize Browser (either through SDC or the Wincustomize Browser App itself) I get an error stating "Failed to download" in the downloads tab, and the status of the file is changed to "Failed"

Have you stopped us accessing and downloading files using these apps in order to force us to use, IMO, the inferior Impulse which doesn't have option of checking for recent/updated themes and skins?

I have always preferred to use this method rather than going through manually on the wincustomize website, which is very time consuming. So can anyone shed any light as to why thuis is happening, I check every 2 or 3 days to check what is new/updated.

I don't think so. I've gotten that message or"Corrupted Download" many times,as have many others.Search the forums,there may have been a solution posted.It didn't work right from day one for me.I tried for about two weeks,and gave up on it.I haven't used it for downloads since then.

Please post at least one skin that you are trying to download so it can be tested by others.
It's hard to help in a vacuum.

I remember there being this problem during the site updates a few months back. Is this maybe the same problem reoccurring? :NOTSURE:

Conspiracy theories aside,it was Antares,3 fails,1 corrupted,Encoded twice, ( both were suites)and several WB's I don't remember. It's been a while,but I had a ticket on it.I should have been more positive and helpful in my first reply.My Bad.

Right here are the ones I tried today ...

Sound Schemes: Legend of Zelda and System Shock 2
Icons: English Premier League and 4OD
WindowBlinds: ClearVista

However, just as a test I tried to download a lot of other things and every single one of them fails both in SDC and WCB, as I mentioned I have been using these for years without any problems, and then as the Impulse thing is released it stops working, co-incidence probably as you say, but I still would like that functionality back, or it at least added to Impulse if this cannot be resolved.

I'm having the same issue (tested with the Zelda soundpack).  Interestingly enough, when I right-click on the pack and choose copy URL, it works fine (https://www.wincustomize.com/download.asp?p=sb&LibID=69&skinid=87&file=CopyofOcarinoftimesoundpack.soundpack&source=1)

I'd contact support by emailing support@stardock.com and see what they can do.

Yup thats another issue, I can right click and paste into my browser, but that defeats the object, mail fired off to support, but I won't hold my breath as they hardly ever get replied to all I usually get is a message after 3 weeks or so saying no response so closed :(
