Not being able to build things

Something wierd happened today while I was playin the Iconians. Just in the middle of upgrading some of their ecom building when I was suddenly unable to build or rather do anything involving buildings. No problem right? I saved and reloaded. Problem still there. Tryed starting a new game. Still there. New race. No change. Restarted comp. Nope.

Any suggestions?

In the active game I could understand the problem, but making a new one I'm baffled. The active game you may have dipped below -500bc in the treasury.

Double-check your spending slider (the one right below the taxes) make sure it's not at 0%.

I have the same problem! The problem is not that things do not get built, but that nothing is there to build. Ordinarily you start with several available buildings (including Starport, basic factories, labs, etc.) and research more from there. However, now I cannot build anything unless I research a more advanced version first. This happened shortly after I traded the Yor for tech (a version of their factory) and now applies to all games and races. It does not have anything to do with money or the sliders, nothing is available to build, including the starport. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the problem persists.

For the list of buildings, check to see what tab you are using. There are 3 tabs: "newest", "old", and "all". If the game is stuck on old, you will not see any buildings unless you have researched the more advanced version.

I've tried to reproduce your problem. If you have the "old" tab selected, the game will remain stuck on "old" until you select a new tab. I found that things will remain stuck even if you start a new game, or load an old one.

You are going to need to change the tab manually to get things working. Otherwise, I suppose you could modify (or delete) your pref.ini file in "/My Documents/GC2TwilightArnor/" folder. Open the file in notepad, scroll down to the bottom, and change "ImprovementFilter=2.000000" from 2.00 (old tab) to 1.00 (newest tab) .

I am having the same issues but from starting a new game for the first time from a fresh install with a custom race. I tried the above suggestions and nothing has worked thus far. Is there some sorta patch or something else i need to change? I am playing the Ultimate edition threw Impulse and am using Win 7 32 bit ultimate edition for my OS. Anything would be much appreciated.
